I am a hopeful South African who was raised close to nature in the Cradle of Humankind with my two older brothers. My childhood was strongly influenced by my mother, a gifted healing facilitator, who had a Physiotherapy home practice that grew to include alternative healing modalities and my father who came from a family of naturalists.

After school I completed a diploma in Tourism and spent the next few years working in safari lodges and travelling in Africa. One of my guests offered me a position as an English teacher in Chile and there I discovered my love for teaching. The following year I spent exploring the more remote parts of South America and travelled the length of the Amazon River before returning to Africa.

For the next 17 years I lived in Botswana on the edge of the Okavango Delta, where I raised my two children, Royce and Kayleigh on a small farm, off the grid and where I enjoyed years of yoga, Tai Chi and dance in Maun. For ten years I owned and managed Travel Adventures, a fully-equipped self-drive safari company.

My son has dyslexia and living so remotely, with an educational system that could not manage “out the box” learning and with no access in his early years to remedial support, I became increasingly interested in education and completed courses in Child Development, The Learning Child, Basic Psychology, and Guidance, Counselling and Life Skills. In delving deeper into spirituality as a parent, I completed a master’s degree in Metaphysical Sciences.

In 2011 I founded Rainbow Earthlings, teaching children's yoga, mindfulness, brain gym and dance. During my final three years in Botswana, while managing Okavango Guiding School with my father and brothers, I developed the Honeyguides Nature Course that takes primary school children into the Okavango Delta to learn from the ever-changing natural wonders of the wilderness. During this time, I also did Botswana’s Training of Trainers Programme, to facilitate vocational training sessions and presented on Whole Brain Learning.

I met my partner, Alex, in Maun and when Royce reached high school age in 2018, we relocated to Cape Town.  Since then I have done courses in Kids Yoga, Kids Zumba, Mindfulness, Curriculum Development for Teachers, the Emotional Freedom Technique, Mindfulness for Children, and Mindfulness Teacher Training.

In 2019 I founded Kids in Tune to create and facilitate holistic, active learning experiences for children - to give them the opportunity to connect deeply with nature and themselves in a gentle, fun and nurturing environment, through movement, music, mindfulness and imagination.
